Michigan and Washington hit the field on Monday night with the CFP National Championship on the line. The Wolverines picked up their first-ever playoff win last Monday night when they beat Alabama 27-20 in overtime at the Rose Bowl. The Wolverines used a strong defense and a late touchdown to force overtime and then scored on their first possession in overtime to take the lead. They then stopped Jalen Milroe on fourth and goal to secure the victory and move to 14-0 on the season. The Wolverines are now looking for their first national championship since 1997 when they split the title with Nebraska.

The Huskies will look to keep the Wolverines from getting the title as they also look for their first every CFP title.
The Huskies beat Texas in the other semifinal 37-31. They led almost the whole game, but had to survive a Longhorns rally to get the win.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was fantastic in the semifinal, as the threw for 430 yards and two touchdowns. He has been one of the best players in the country this season and is looking to cap an amazing season with a national championship over the soon-to-be conference foe Wolverines.
The two teams will meet next year as Big Ten opponents, but first want to get a win on Monday night and finish 15-0 with a national title.
